Mail Setup Instructions

Please select from the following:

iPhone/iPad Mail Setup
IMAP Email Settings
Microsoft Active Sync Settings
POP Email Settings
 

iPhone/iPad Mail Setup
Select Settings
Go to Passwords & Account
Click on "Add Account"



Click "Other"

Select "Add Mail Account"

Enter your information. 

Click Next
Select IMAP

In the Incoming Mail Server enter:
Host Name – mail.interwebtechgroup.com
User Name – Your Full Email Address
Password – Your Email Password

Outgoing Mail Server – (THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL IT HAS TO BE ENTERED OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEND EMAIL)
Host Name – mail.interwebtechgroup.com
User Name – Your Full Email Address
Password – Your Email Password

Click Next

Click Save

The System will now verify the account (please wait)
When complete click Save

Your all set.

In some cases you may need to verify your SSL is on. To do so:

  • click on the Account
  • then at the bottom under Outgoing Mail Server, click on "SMTP"
  • Under Primary Server click "mail.interwebtechgroup.com"
  • Your settings (with the exception of the user name should look like the following:

Click Done. You should be all set.


Microsoft Outlook and Cell Phone Email Setup
There are two ways to setup email on a cell phone.  The method you select depends on what functionality you require.  The first one call IMAP is used for synchronizing only your SmarterMail email to your phone.  The second called Microsoft Active Sync is used for synchronizing your Email, Contacts, and Calendar from Smartermail to your cell phone.  The Microsoft Active Sync does require a software license and may not be part of your hosting account.  If you would like the Microsoft Active Sync service please contact Interweb Tech Support at 716-542-6077.

Email setup and configuration various by phone and carrier so below are the basic settings required.  If you need additional help we may be able to help or you should be able to take these settings to your carrier for setup.


IMAP Email Setup (Used for Cell Phone Email and Microsoft Outlook)

User Account Setup
User Account: Your Email Address
Account Password: (provided during your account setup)

Mail Server Names
Incoming Mail Server: mail.interwebtechgroup.com 
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.interwebtechgroup.com
(Note  the WWW on your web domain were replaced with the word MAIL).

SSL (Secure Socket Layer) – Make sure this is turned on

Microsoft Active Sync 

On your phone or iPad:
Select Settings
Click on Passwords & Account
Click on "Add Account"
Click on "Microsoft Exchange"
Enter your email address and description for account
Click Next
Click on Configure Manually
Your email address & description should already be in there, enter your password
Click Next
For the server name enter: mail.interwebtechgroup.com
Leave Domain blank
Username is your email address
Click Next
Now click Save.
Your account is all set. 


POP Email Setup (Used for Microsoft Outlook)

User Account Setup
User Account: Your Email Address
Account Password: (provided during your account setup)

Mail Server Names
Incoming Mail Server(POP3): mail.interwebtechgroup.com
(technical information we are using port 995)
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.interwebtechgroup.com
(technical information we are using port 465 or 587)
(Note  the WWW on your web domain were replaced with the word MAIL).

Login Requires Authentication (check this option on)
(located under the advance option of Outlook during the account setup).
